At 33 with a busy working Mum of 2 I told myself I was too busy and too tired. I took some pictures, one day I could have cried at how I looked stretch marks, cellulite and all.
I tried different generic online plans but nothing stuck. Then I found Fit Girl Club. From the moment I watched the first video put it into action, tracking my meals & calories, non restrictive diet, exercising doing fun things with the community online and looking forward to getting up and doing my daily class, it clicked & I saw results FAST! But I wanted more, I wanted to lift, I wanted to really TRAIN so I started 1-2-1 online coaching, and it just keeps on getting better and better! I’m achieving things I never thought I would or could do, I’m getting excited about lifting heavy weights, doing intensive cardio sessions and loving them!
Thanks to Helen I’m stronger & fitter than I’ve ever been, I feel confident enough that I could hold my own if I wanted to go join a running club or even attend a Cross Fit session! Helen has boosted my confidence, spurred me on and think I’ve got a marathon in me somewhere, one day!!

At some point during the year, I looked in the mirror and I was so happy with what I saw (I still feel that way), I fit into the denim dress I bought a few months earlier, I had to buy smaller clothes, it was such a great feeling.
I got my body confidence back and I haven’t had that since my early 20s. I still have arm envy (yes Helen I’m talking to you), but that’s a goal to set, something to work towards in the future.
Lockdown was a lonely time for a lot of people, we didn’t get to see our families and friends, or go on those holidays but having the live workouts everyday, with Helen’s amazingly unique vibe really did make it feel like I had a friend come into my house every morning (or night) to workout with/chat with. Before working with Helen I struggled staying motivated. I would use the gym for a couple of months, get bored and not see the results I wanted, so would stop going. I didn’t know what to do in the gym so I would stick to doing cardio. I had no idea how to use the free weight section and was also not very confident. I joined Helen’s Fit Girl Club because I wanted to be educated on how to live and maintain a healthy lifestyle but also regain that confidence for me to be able to walk into the gym and explore all the options.
I’m the kind of girl who used to crash diet before holiday. A couple of months before I would cut the amount I was eating. But I would forget all about it when I got home. I hadn’t really struggled with my weight when I was younger and have always been a very active person, I just noticed a difference when I finished university and I started my job as a graphic designer. Working in an office environment, sat for 8 hours a day, snacking and just not moving very much. And the time I was moving and getting active I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted.
I have had great results so far, physically and mentally. Helen’s educated me on how to fill my body with nutrient dense foods whilst still enjoying the not so healthy food and drink. I have lost weight, feel fitter & stronger!
Helen’ s super motivational, funny and knowledgeable. She makes exercise fun! And it’s now something I look forward to rather than dread

When I look in the mirror I like myself and it shows in the clothes I wear and how I carry myself.Helen has changed so much more than my body, I feel confident and happy in my own skin now.
Now I can look after myself because I understand the basics of nutrition and exercise and that’s help me find peace and appreciation for my own body. My wardrobe has patterns and colours and I’m comfortable showing some skin. Before I wanted to cover up my body because I hated all of it. I also feel the physical difference in my body – it’s easier to get off the sofa, to get my leg over the motorbike and I’ve got muscles growing in my arms and legs.
I’ve got a long way to go to reach my goal weight but I’m already enjoying my body more and happier! Everyone needs to work with Helen!! Whatever your goal Helen will help you achieve it and make it feel manageable along the way. She’s a font of knowledge but also great fun! Her energy for life is infectious and she can find the right exercise and healthy eating plan for anyone, whatever you like to do. Everybody needs a Helen to cheer them on and pick them up after they fall down when making changes!

This is the best I’ve felt in all my life! I’m at a weight that I haven’t seen on the scales in about 8 years but not only that I’m fitter and stronger than I’ve ever been. I was never sporty in school, never regularly exercised, but here I am, 9 months after starting with Helen, happily exercising nearly every day but still living my life as normal, eating and drinking what I want but with the idea of balance and moderation always in mind.
I’m so happy that I’ve finally found the right path for me, the one that works for me completely, and I couldn’t have done that without Helen.

Helen does not promote any type of diet Helen is all about balance and once you get that concept it makes perfect sense. No food is off limits its all about moderation. Obviously nutrition is key so lots of healthy nutritional dense foods such as vegetables etc but that goes without saying but if you want the pizza have it just not all day everyday! So it helps you develop a healthy relationship with food and break any yo yo unhealthy dieting.
Having someone in your corner who has taken the time to know your struggles and shows an active interest in your well being and your results is great. Being part of Helen’s group helps promote positive body image and not get obsessive with ‘social media ideals’ Helen keeps it real and positive.
Helen is passionate about what she does and it really shows, she is for you 100% and knows how women and women’s bodies work. As part of the group there is plenty of group support, whatever you are struggling with the girls are there to offer a shoulder or helpful advice.
Throughout my first term at University, I neglected my body. I ate a lot of takeaways, drank an excessive amount alcohol, had a poor sleeping pattern and did little to no exercise. This left me feeling unhealthy, unfit and demotivated.
Before I started training with Helen, I considered exercise to be a chore. I severely disliked cardio and lacked the confidence to weight train.
Since then, Helen has introduced me to a variety of fun cardio exercises with varied equipment. So, my previous perception of cardio which involved solely running on the treadmill or walking up the stair master, has changed significantly.
After working with Helen for only a few months I am already progressively upping my weights to match my new strength and I am now able to complete press ups which I couldn’t do before I joined the gym! Helen makes my sessions challenging but realistic, which makes it all the more rewarding when I complete them!
Helen is so positive and inspirational, she has encouraged and supported my new passion for the gym, so much so that I am now perusing a career in health and fitness! Also I am now more than comfortable to complete weighted training sessions on my own as well!

Aisling is a competitive dancer, she’s won competitions all over the world and before Covid locked us down she was planning to hit the stage one last time! She’s fit and can dance circles around me (literally) but she still needed FGC and here’s why, in her own words…
‘FGC has helped more than you could ever know! It was my saviour when the gyms shut and dance classes were cancelled. To have some sense of routine with the classes was exactly what I needed, and by following them each week I kept up with my fitness and maintained my weight all through the first lockdown. But then it grew…to this community that I can dip in and out of, to bring me up when I’m feeling low, to this great bunch of girls and an even better trainer! I am so grateful Helen, thank you for all that you do.’
I’m so proud of this girl, and grateful to have her as part of the amazing group. Here’s to her dancing again and I hope I’ll get to see her perform one day.
